August’s Drawing Room was led by artist Sara Sinclair.
We explored a small section of the From Death to Death and Other Small Tales exhibition in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and used the exhibited artworks as inspiration to draw whatever we wanted onto blank postcards.
I grabbed some pastels and moved quickly between the items to capture as much as I could, much like a tourist bagging as many tourist attractions as possible on a short visit.
I enjoyed the process of observation, comprehension and quick distillation of the pieces into my own renditions of them. I produced six postcards and will post each of them separately over the week.
